aqion is a free hydrochemistry software that

• validates aqueous solutions (charge balance error, parameter adjustment, …)
• calculates pH of solutions (acid-base reactions, titration)
• calculates the calcite-carbonate system (CaCO₃ saturation)
• calculates buffer capacities
• calculates redox reactions and equilibria with mineral phases

aqion uses the well-known U.S.G.S. software PhreeqC as an internal numerical solver. The calculation of chemical reactions is based on the thermodynamical database wateq4f.

aqion is a Windows software for XP, Vista, and Win7. It is designed as a standalone application which does not modify the Windows registry during and after installation. You can run the program from a USB stick.

aqion is a free software. In addition there is the affordable software aqion PRO as an extended version.

The first version of aqion was released in German language (Jan 2012). The English version is available since April 2012.
